So as you can see I have not been very diligent in sticking to my goal of a weekly update. That will soon change however today I wanted to introduce myself to you.
My name is Daniel Hess. I graduated from Towson University in the Electronic Media and Film department in 2012. I have been actively freelancing since 2009 and this year has been my first year being able to freelance full time. My passion for film really came out of my passion for writing. In the summer before college I really didn't know what I wanted to do, at first I wanted to be a pharmacist if you can believe that but writing was my passion. A friend of mine was going into film and seeing the possibilities of having my written words come to life was amazing to me so I decided to pursue it. At Towson I met a lot of great people and learned skills that still serve me today.
Flashfoward to now and I am working full time in the freelance world which has its ups and downs but I wouldn't have it any other way. Being my own boss is great and forming a schedule that works for me is awesome to say the least. I mainly work filming weddings but I do really much of anything that comes my way ranging from music videos to corporate events and anything in between.
Goals: My goal for the future is to branch out and pursue my dream of directing a feature film. In 2015 I plan to make at least one short film and one feature film. I think my skills while they are always improving are right now at a great level so now is the time. I still want to build my business but I also wanna get back to where my heart is as well.
Well that is a little about me. Be back for more blogposts soon.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park - The Japanese tourists running from the rampaging T-Rex in the San Diego scene (an obvious homage to "Godzilla" movies) are saying in Japanese: "I left Japan to get away from this?!"
